What will the new year have in store for bathroom design?
2014 saw a rise in luxurious bathroom design and we are thrilled to announce that trend is here to stay. Instead of knocking down walls and completely renovating bathroom space, working with the bathroom space you already have is on trend for 2015. Here are the hottest bathroom design trends for the new year that incorporate modern luxury with space-saving decor.
One of our favorite bathroom designs on trend for 2015 is swapping out old, dated bathroom vanities for beautiful contemporary pieces. As you can in these gorgeous pictures from our favorite vanity store, Tradewinds Imports, contemporary vanities pull double duty for form and function. Look for space-saving features that maximum useable space like drawers and organization units. Some designs like floating vanities, single sink vanities, or vanities that feature glass can also make small bathroom spaces look and feel larger than they really are!
Another design trend that's going to take off in 2015 is the way we think of decorating bathrooms. Instead of giving the bathroom a distinct style, a growing number of interior designers opting for making them look like an extension of other rooms in the house, like the living room or master bedroom. This is achieved by bringing colors, fixtures, patterns, and accessories from adjoining rooms in your house into your bathroom decor. Our current favorites include the purple and orange accents from Ikea and Emerick Architects and the fun patterning from Shelly Chung Design in these bathrooms via Houzz! Design continuity can make small bathrooms seem larger and more spacious without adding extra square footage!
And who doesn't love luxuriously large shower space? Expand your shower easily in 2015 by simply updating your old, straight rod to a curved shower rod! Curved shower rods provide up to 33% more room in the shower without having to remodel, renovate, or move! These photos from Jason Snyder from JCS Photographs (first photograph) and Mert Carpentery Photography/Cage Design Build via Houzz illustrate just how elegant and spacious your shower can be!
Don't think a curved shower rod would work in your small bathroom? Think again! You just need The Rotator Rod, The Original Curved Shower Rod that Rotates for a larger shower that doesn't sacrifice precious bathroom space.
