The most exciting trend in interior design this year is digital integration into residential bathrooms. Master bathrooms have become havens for spa-inspired luxury & cleanliness as bathroom technology becomes more affordable & accessible. (You've already seen Kohler's amazing shower head that streams music for the best singing in the shower experience!) As the field burgeons, look for traditional bathroom accessories like mirrors, medicine cabinets, & toilets to get a futuristic update!
Kitchen & Bathroom Design News is predicting that mirrors will be the next big way to stream music & video in your bathroom. Electric Mirror is setting the standard with mirrors that almost magically transform into a TV and back again, like the photo featured above via Grandview Wilson Company. And Electric Mirror with Vive technology allows you to stream your favorite summer music through its hi-tech mirrors via Bluetooth.
Touch-less tech is becoming another popular option for residential bathrooms. Two industry leaders in this hygienic technology are Brizo, who offers touch-less faucets like the one above, and Kohler, who has launched the no-touch flushing toilet for residential bathrooms. A simple hand motion triggers the Kohler toilet to flush, as seen in their brilliant commercial below.
"Wellness Toilets" are the smart phones of the toilet world! These high-tech gadgets have lots of different features like lighting up, washing and drying the user, and making sounds or playing music. They have taken over Asian bathrooms and are working their way into the European market. We'll have to see if they take off in America, too. Check out this wellness toilet from Roca below.
